Your new roof is only as good as the deck that it is installed on top of. For this reason THI construction uses only the best deck protection materials on the market. You can get the best shingles you can find but if they are not installed properly and your roofing contractor uses sub par deck protection you are just throwing your money away.

When THI Construction replaces your roof you can rest assured that we will first replace any damaged wood decking. After that the deck is cleaned and all debris is removed. Our installers will apply a Ice & water protection behind all gutters and a minimum of three feet up from the gutter board. We also apply this protection to all valleys, around all sky lights and chimneys, and up any walls. This is very important to help prevent ice and water from finding its way into your home.

After all the Ice and Water protection has been applied our roofers then apply a synthetic breathable moisture barrier to protect the rest of the roof deck from moisture. Once all the deck protection is applied we then install your new roof using NAILS no staples. All valleys and flashing are replaced.

The final step to a quality roof is installing proper ventilation. Proper ventilation includes proper intake as well as exhaust. We will determine  if your house need more ventilation during your estimate and inspection. You can apply all the ice barriers you want but if the roof isn’t vented properly you can still end up with ice back up. There is no guarantee against ice back up but proper ventilation and proper leak barriers are a highly effective method of reducing ice back up from damaging the inside of your home. Make sure your roofer checks for proper intake at all gutter board/ over hangs.
